In the field of English language teaching (ELT), knowledge and skills of how textbooks are developed, analyzed, and evaluated is imperative for effective teaching. Teachers should know the principles of designing appealing textbooks which they can use later to assess the quality of the textbooks they use. Indeed, making rigorous and systematic judgments about the effect of the textbook on the learners is critical characteristic of a successful teacher. Thus, this course is designed to acquaint master 2 students, the future teachers, with textbook evaluation area of their curriculum which would help them especially systematically evaluate any textbook, including state produced, before adapting them in their teaching contexts.
